Like their primordial mistress, the Tzitzimimeh have been laid low, cursed to exist outside the light, bound to the dark places of the world. That is, until the world becomes unstable. During these times, whether the sun rises or sets, or an eclipse blots it out, the Tzitzimimeh are called to act.
Burning fields, slaughtering cattle, devouring women and children whole, the Tzitzimimeh assault the Gods and their people, destroying everything in their path until nothing remains.
Worse still comes the last five days of the Aztec Calendar, while the calendar recalibrates the world becomes a thing of roiling chaos in which the gods must stand together lest the Tzitzimimeh drown the world in blood and fire whilst the light does not bind them.
